Based on clinical experience

The foundation was created based on collaborative work across countries, with children and families living with neurological conditions. As a licensed clinical social worker and social work researcher with families around the globe, Dr. Kavanaugh and team have developed tools for children, youth, and families including:

  • YCare: Young carer skills, support, and education
  • Graphic novel - real kids talk about ALS/MND
  • Parent guide: how to talk about ALS
  • School guide: helping school staff support children in families with ALS/MND
  • LUKi & the Lights

Built on relationships

Over the years, it was clear - organizations want to do more to assist children and youth, but don't have the tools or resources. Working directly with other non-profit organizations, the Global Neuro YCare foundation provides the guidance, tools, and resources to build children and youth programming around the world.

Focused on children and youth

The Global Neuro YCare Foundation focuses on children and youth, within these families, but as the primary target for our services.

Help us support our Global Reach

Neurological conditions are global, with children and youth involved in care. Yet children in these familes recieve few supports or education about the disorder, or the care they provide.

Your donations and contributions help bring the YCare program to areas around the global, translate and culturally adapt books and films, and support health and social care providers across the globe.
